The UT196 True RMS solar multimeter from UNI-T is a professional-grade product designed for professionals who install or maintain photovoltaic or wind power plants. The device’s design allows it to operate in harsh outdoor environments – it has IP65 protection and can withstand a drop from a height of 2 m. This multimeter measures DC voltage up to 1700 V and AC voltage (true RMS) up to 1500 V at a frequency range of 45 to 1000 Hz. With the optional UT-CS09D Flex current loop, it allows non-contact measurement of AC currents from 1.5 to 3000 A, even in confined spaces. In addition, the UT196 measures frequency, resistance, capacitance, semiconductor transitions and electrical circuit continuity.
The low-pass function allows you to filter out RF interference generated by the inverter. In high-voltage mode, it can be used for testing power lines in the range (90–1000 V), switchboards, electrical appliances and three-phase systems.
It is widely used in the maintenance of low-voltage equipment, such as wires, cables, sockets and other electrical/electronic devices. It is a very useful tool for electricians. Simply place the sensor head near the object to be tested or the AC socket. When alternating current voltage is detected, the red or green LED on the tip lights up and the buzzer sounds. The frequency of the buzzer and the detection LED increases as the detector approaches the object being tested.
