BMV-702 Temperature Sensor by Victron Energy
The BMW-702 temperature sensor is an accessory that can be purchased separately for the BMV-702 battery monitoring systems. The BMW-702 temperature sensor is useful for providing information on battery temperature, preventing it from rising excessively (overheating) or, conversely, dropping too low. This temperature sensor allows the second channel of the BMV 702 to be used for measuring battery temperature instead of monitoring the voltage of an auxiliary battery. The BMV can store temperature readings in its historical data memory. The sensor is not the same as those used in other Victron products, so it can only be used with the BMV702. The sensor is fitted with a short lead that connects to the circuit board on the unit. Please note that if you use the second channel to read the temperature using this sensor, you cannot use it for anything else, such as reading the voltage of a second battery. It can only be used for a single function, and the channel is user-programmable.
