Description
ESS (Energy Storage System) functionality
The Multiplus-II is a multifunctional inverter/charger featuring all the options of the MultiPlus, plus an external current sensor that extends the PowerControl and PowerAssist functions to 50A and 100A respectively. The Multiplus-II is ideal for off-grid applications in the marine, yachting, automotive and land-based sectors. It also includes an anti-islanding function and a growing list of country-specific approvals for ESS functionality. A number of system configurations are possible.
PowerControl and PowerAssist – Increasing grid or generator capacity
A maximum grid or generator current can be set. The Multiplus-II will then take other AC consumers into account and use the excess energy produced to charge the batteries, thereby preventing the generator or grid from being overloaded (PowerControl function). PowerAssist takes the PowerControl function and takes it to the next level. Where maximum power is required only for a certain period of time, the Multiplus-II will compensate for insufficient power from the generator or grid using the batteries, and when consumption drops, the surplus power is used to recharge the batteries.
Two AC outputs per side
The Multiplus-II takes over the supply to connected loads in the event of a mains failure or when the generator is disconnected. This happens very quickly (in less than 20 milliseconds), so PCs and other electronic equipment will continue to operate without interruption. The secondary output is active only when AC is available at the Multiplus-II input. Loads that should not discharge the battery, such as a boiler, can be connected to this output.
