This product comes with a 3-year warranty. The UT343A is a high-precision paint thickness gauge capable of measuring paint thickness on ferrous (ferromagnetic) and non-ferrous (paramagnetic and diamagnetic) metals.
Electrically non-conductive or conductive coatings on ferromagnetic metals, such as steel, can be measured through galvanised or electromagnetic steel (e.g. galvanised or electro-galvanised steel). induction (the instrument setting symbol is Fe), which measures the paint thickness based on the amount of magnetic flux flowing from the sensor through the non-ferromagnetic paint onto the ferromagnetic substrate.
You can measure the thickness of non-conductive paints on non-magnetic metallic materials, such as aluminium or copper, using the Eddy current measurement method (instrument setting symbol NFe). The principle involves measuring the differences in eddy currents generated by the instrument in a non-magnetic metallic substrate.
