The DEYE SUN-16K-SG05LP3-EU-SM2 is a 16kW three-phase hybrid inverter designed for photovoltaic installations with low-voltage batteries. Its two 40–60V battery inputs and maximum charging/discharging current of 300A provide flexibility for energy storage systems intended for large homes, guesthouses, offices, workshops, and commercial premises.

The unit manages photovoltaic production, battery storage, the grid, and electrical loads. The AC coupling function allows integration into an existing photovoltaic installation, while diesel generator support provides an additional power supply and energy storage option. Six programmable charging and discharging periods allow operation to be adapted to the user’s consumption profile and energy management strategy.

With a maximum PV input power of 25.6kW, two MPPT trackers, and four strings in a 2+2 configuration, the model can manage two separate photovoltaic orientations or installation areas. The 100% unbalanced three-phase output allows each phase to supply up to 50% of the inverter’s rated power. In off-grid operation, the inverter can support a peak output of twice its rated power for 10 seconds.

Compatibility and integration

The inverter supports lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries within the 40–60V range. For lithium-ion batteries, the charging strategy adapts to the BMS through compatible communication. Exact compatibility depends on the battery model, BMS protocol, and firmware version. We recommend checking compatibility before purchase.

The string configuration must be calculated to comply with the maximum voltage of 800V, the MPPT range of 160–650V, the current limits of each tracker, and the behaviour of the modules under the extreme temperatures expected at the installation site.

Protection and safety

The inverter includes DC reverse-polarity protection, AC output overcurrent protection, thermal protection, AC overvoltage protection, AC output short-circuit protection, DC component monitoring, AFCI, anti-islanding protection, a DC switch, insulation impedance detection, and residual current monitoring. Surge protection is Type II on the DC side and Type II on the AC side.
