The Victron Energy MultiPlus-II GX 48/4k5/55-32 is a multifunctional inverter/charger designed for 48V battery systems. It integrates a sine wave inverter, a battery charger and a GX device in a single enclosure, reducing the number of separate devices required to monitor and control the installation.
The model delivers 4kW of continuous output power at 25°C and can temporarily support higher loads, reaching a peak power of 7kW. The integrated charger can supply up to 55A at 25°C.
The product can be used in grid-connected installations, off-grid systems, mobile applications and generator-powered systems. It must be configured according to the battery type, available energy sources and installation requirements.
Supplying loads during a grid outage
When the grid or generator supply is interrupted, the MultiPlus-II GX automatically switches to the energy stored in the batteries. Critical loads connected to the main AC output can continue operating.
The product also features a 32A auxiliary output. This can be used for loads that should operate only when an AC source is available, helping preserve the energy stored in the batteries.
Integrated GX system
The built-in GX device allows users to monitor the parameters of the battery, inverter and compatible solar charge controllers. The information can be viewed locally on the two-line display or remotely through the Victron Remote Management platform – VRM.
Internet connectivity is available via Wi-Fi or Ethernet. USB, VE.Direct and BMS-CAN interfaces are also provided for integrating other compatible equipment.
PowerControl and PowerAssist
The PowerControl function allows the current drawn from the grid or generator to be limited. If the available power is restricted, the unit automatically reduces the current used for battery charging, preventing the AC source from being overloaded.
PowerAssist can temporarily supplement the power supplied by the grid or generator using energy from the batteries. Once consumption decreases, the available power can be used again to recharge the batteries.
Parallel and three-phase operation
Multiple MultiPlus-II units can be configured in parallel to increase the system’s output power and charging capacity. The product can also be integrated into three-phase configurations. Only one unit with GX functionality is required for a parallel or three-phase system.

Battery compatibility
The MultiPlus-II GX can be configured for lithium, lead-acid, zinc-bromine and other supported battery technologies. The charger parameters must be configured according to the battery manufacturer’s requirements.
The BMS-CAN port is intended for compatible CAN-managed batteries communicating at 500kbps. It is not a standard VE.Can port.
Compatibility depends on the battery model, BMS protocol and firmware version. We recommend checking the system configuration before purchase.
