Temperature sensor BMV-702 Victron Energy

The BMW-702 temperature sensor is a separately available accessory for BMV-702 battery monitoring systems. The BMW-702 temperature sensor is useful to provide information about the temperature of the batteries, preventing excessive temperature rise (overcharging) or, conversely, temperature drop.

This temperature sensor allows the second channel of the BMV 702 to be used for battery temperature measurement instead of monitoring the voltage of an auxiliary battery. The BMV can store temperature readings in historical data memory. The sensor is not the same as the sensors used in other Victron products, so it can only be used with the BMV702 The sensor is provided with a short wire that connects to the circuit board on the sunt.

Note that if you use the second channel to read the temperature using this sensor, then you cannot use it to do anything else, such as reading the voltage of a second battery. It can only be used for one function and the channel is user programmable.
