ESS (Energy Storage System) functionality

The Multiplus-II is a multi-functional inverter/charger with all the options of the MultiPlus, plus an external current sensor that extends the PowerControl and PowerAssist function to 50A and 100A respectively. The Multiplus-II is ideal for off-grid applications in marine, yachting, automotive and terrestrial applications. It also includes an anti-isolation function, and a long and growing list of country approvals for ESS functionality. A number of system configurations are possible.

PowerControl and PowerAssist - Increase grid or generator capacity

A maximum grid or generator current can be set. The Multiplus-II will then take into account other consumers on the AC side and use the extra energy produced to charge the batteries, thus preventing overcharging of the generator or grid (PowerControl function). PowerAssist takes the PowerControl function and sends it to another level. Where maximum power is only needed for a certain period of time, the Multiplus-II will compensate for insufficient power from the generator or grid through the batteries, and when the consumption is reduced, the surplus power is used to recharge the batteries.

Two exits on the AC side

Multiplus-II takes over delivery to connected consumers in the event of a network failure or when the generator is disconnected. This happens very quickly (less than 20 milliseconds), so PCs or other electronic equipment will continue to operate without interruption. The secondary output is only active when AC is available at the input of the Multiplus-II. Consumers that should not discharge the battery, for example a boiler, can be connected to this output.
